Insider Dusk Golem claims he is “95% sure” that the long-awaited Resident Evil 9 will be announced soon. According to him, his sources are confident that the announcement will take place during the Summer Game Fest.
I can't give 100% confirmation, no one has said it directly. But at this point I'm 95% sure that we're on the verge of RE9 being shown at SGF. This is the first time there's been a lot of noise behind the scenes, a lot of rumors.
It is worth noting that Resident Evil 9 has been in development for many years, at least since 2017, when the game was developed as a multiplayer project with an open world. However, in 2021, the concept of the project was changed, and since then, there has been almost no official news about the game.
At the same time, according to previous rumors, the mentioned RE part could get a large world and become Capcom's "most ambitious" game in the franchise. Also, Dusk Golem previously reported that the announcement could take place in early 2025; however, as of June 2025, no announcement has been made.
If previous rumors are to be believed, the RE9 reveal has been delayed several times already. It's unclear whether the reveal will happen this fiscal year or next, but Summer Game Fest, which takes place on June 6, seems like the perfect time for such an event.
