Call of Duty insider GhostOfHope, known for reliable leaks about the franchise, has shared new details about the upcoming installment expected to launch in 2026 (not to be confused with this year's release). Reportedly, the shooter will take place across both South and North Korea.
The game may be titled "Modern Warfare 사", where the usual "4" is replaced with the Korean character meaning "four," symbolizing the central role of the Korean Peninsula in the campaign. According to the insider, the storyline will continue from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and he even mentioned some spoiler-heavy plot points.
141/SAS/Republic of Korea Army are the 3 major factions you play as to take down Makarov and Konni Group who are doing false flag operations to start a 3rd World War. MW사's story will follow up on MW3's ending with Shepherd being killed by Price/Soap being killed by Makarov.
GhostOfHope also notes that the 2026 Call of Duty will feature some futuristic technologies and weapons, but the overall tone and setting will remain grounded and relatively modern.
