The sequel to Lords of the Fallen (2023), rightfully considered one of the most worthy modern Soulslikes, may yet be released on Steam. Contrary to previous statements from CI Games management about a tie-in to EGS, recent news indicates that fans likely won't have to switch platforms for the long-awaited sequel.

CI Games shareholders have officially approved raising additional capital. The company stated that this move is aimed at achieving "maximum potential profits" and "increasing market value" for future releases. Insiders and fans believe these funds will allow the company to renegotiate (or even cancel) its exclusivity agreement with Epic Games in order to maximize profits by releasing on all PC platforms.

CI Games CEO Marek TymiƄski personally fueled the rumors. He liked several comments under the announcement post in which fans were asking for LotF2 to be released on Steam, and reposted a post discussing the studio's change in platform policy.

This differs from what the CEO stated last year, meaning plans for Lords of the Fallen 2 could very well have changed since the official announcement. Regardless, the sequel promises to be much darker than the original, so fan expectations are higher than ever.

Although Lords of the Fallen 2 is currently officially announced for consoles and Epic Games, the new investment strategy points to a broader release geography. It appears that by the game's 2026 release, it will no longer be a PC exclusive and will be coming to Steam.
